Manager, Field Service Engineers (Instrument Service - Medical Device)

Responsibilities

As Manager of Instrument Service, you will be managing a team of Field Service Engineers with the objective of providing world-class customer service support for all customers of Immucor’s products. This will also include working closely with technical support and sales to cultivate a customer-driven, highly responsive, top quality customer service support team which contributes to the acquisition, satisfaction and retention of customers.

Additional responsibilities for this management position include:

  • Coordinating day-to-day operations in a defined territory.

  • Maintaining the department’s morale and employee motivation.

  • Participating on teams by working efficiently in a cros-functional environment.

  • Ensuring the timely delivery of on-site service support.

  • Ensuring departmental compliance to Immucor’s quality policy.

  • Performing administrative tasks as required according to departmental procedures.

  • Managing resources and personnel to ensure compliance with established corporate operating, regulatory, and quality procedures.

  • Forecasting and assigning staff to meet service levels and customer service expectations.

  • Aligning service objectives with sales goals by interfacing on a routine basis with sale’s management and personnel.

  • Establishing and participating in sales/service meetings to review customer concerns, corporate objectives, and sales opportunities.

  • Ensuring service revenue, parts, expenses and Field Service objectives are met.

  • Recommending hiring/termination/disciplinary decisions affecting employees.

  • Initiating employee objectives and performing employee appraisals as necessary and within established timelines.

Manager, Field Service Engineers (Instrument Service - Medical Device)

Qualifications

As Manager of Instrument Service, you must be highly motivated with keen customer service and problem-solving skills. You will also be an adept manager of people, with strong mentoring and leadership skills. This role will require you to be capable of effectively handling potentially difficult situations in a fast-paced environment, so it will be imperative that you display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to negotiate mutually agreeable solutions with a wide variety of different customers.

Specific requirements for this management role will include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Medical Technology or Electrical Engineering, preferred

  • 4 – 10+ years of experience managing and training an in-vitro diagnostic industry Field Service Engineer team

  • Ability to successfully manage a team of 12-18 employees

  • Solid computer skills

  • Willingness to travel 40-60% of the time as required

  • Candidates should live in the Southeast area

  • Blood Banking experience, a plus

  • Prior experience as a Field Service Engineer, a plus

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business, a plus
